September at Home

If you were not able to join us in September or just want to explore more about our Catholic faith, choose from these activities at home to further your knowledge and understanding of Good Shepherd.
Create a prayer space in your home. This can take many avenues and will look differently in each space. Consider adding Pslam 23 written on a beautiful piece of paper, a saint statue, Bible, candle, prayer cards and anything else that may help you find quiet.

September Saint of the Month

St. John Bosco
Saint John Bosco was a saint for many. He liked to have fun and often used his gifts to make others smile. He loved to spread the good news of Jesus and joy! This month we challenge you to share your joy with others.  Learn more about John Bosco below.

New Saints Carlo Acutis and Pier Giorgio Frassati

Saints Carlo Acutis and Pier Giorgio Frassati both have been called a saint for our times. Saint Carlo Acutis was born May 3, 1991 and died from cancer on October 12, 2006. He enjoyed video games, computer coding, helping the poor and spent many hours in adoration. Pier Giorgio Frassati was born April 6, 1901 and died July 4, 1925 from polio. He was an athletic man who loved the outdoors, often leading youth on hikes and spent many hours helping the poor and giving away his belongings to help them.

September 7 we celebrated the canonization of Saints Carlo Acutis and John Bosco. Both saints had great devotions to the Eucharist and serving the poor. Many are drawn to Saint Carlo Acutis, the first millennial saint, because he wore tennis shoes, and played video games. Both Saints have much to teach us. Learn more about them and watch their canonization Mass.
