The life of St. Clare reminds us that holiness is not about having everything, but about giving everything to God. She teaches us that even quiet, hidden lives can have a powerful impact, and that true joy comes from putting God first.
St. Clare co-founded, with St. Francis, the Order of the Poor Ladies, fasted constantly and joyfully, served the poor and sick, saved Assisi from invaders twice by praying before the Blessed Sacrament, and advised and encouraged St. Francis to continue with active ministry. Ascension of the Lord
The Ascension of the Lord takes place 40 days after Easter when we celebrate Christ ascending into Heaven, body and soul. This year we celebrate the Ascension on May 17.
Pentecost
Pentecost is the celebration of the descent of the Holy Spirit on the disciples of Jesus after his Ascension, and falls 50 days or seven weeks after Easter. Pentecost is the official end of the Easter Season. Find some fun and creative ways to celebrate Pentecost with your family. Be sure to wear red to Mass on Pentecost Sunday, May 24 this year!
