Christmas
When do you take down your Christmas tree and put away the decorations? When do you put away the nativity scene? Did you know that the Christmas season, at least as defined by our Catholic liturgical year, doesn't even begin until Christmas Eve? Then it continues until the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, which is Sunday, January 9 this year. Why not celebrate for the whole season by leaving the decorations up, singing Christmas carols, enjoying the special Christmas treats, and doing good for others? If that seems like too big a change in your traditions, consider at least leaving the nativity scene out and visible as a reminder that the season continues.
The Diocese of Des Moines has created some wonderful resources for celebrating Christmas. Look through these resources and celebrate the whole Christmas season.
