This month’s Faith Formation gathering was entitled “Holy Families, Imperfect Families.” While we focused on the family of Jesus as a model for our own families, we were reminded that “family” is a broad term. Pope Francis discusses this in his apostolic exhortation “Amoris Laetitia” (“The Joy of Love”), which focuses on the pastoral care of families.  Families -- households -- come in all shapes and sizes. Here are two pertinent articles. One discusses the role of single adults in the Church, as well as the Church itself as a “family of families.” The other discusses many of the different ways families can live out the call to holiness in their everyday lives.
Single, Catholic, and Never Alone
Holy Families
We continue our journey through the Cycle B readings this liturgical year. Cycle B features the Gospel of Mark, the shortest of the four. It is supplemented with readings from the Gospel of John. If you haven’t had a chance yet to read Mark’s gospel in its entirety, maybe now is the time. For a little video preview of this fast-paced gospel, click here:
